Platinum #8 - Infamous

Platinum Difficulty Rating - 5/10

The vast majority of this list makes for a pretty easy ride on the way to the Platinum, but it does still provide a few difficulty spikes that will challenge you along the way.

As far as the easier stuff goes, there are a ton of progression based trophies, however, the Platinum demands a minimum of 2 playthroughs, as these trophies are all branched off into completing the game with both the good and evil moral choices along the way at crucial plot points. These also cut into the secret trophies too, which is definitely something to be aware of, and this makes them slightly harder to keep track of.

There are also a small handful of trophies awarded for the beating the game on varying difficulty levels. The "Hard Finish" trophy, for beating the story mode on hard without changing the difficulty setting, isn't exactly one of the toughest trophies you'll ever encounter, though it does provide a few moments of legitimate difficulty.

Aside from that, the rest of the list is mostly catered around defeating a certain number enemies in various ways, which you will almost certainly go about unlocking naturally as you progress through the game.

However, this list also provides some pretty excruciating collectibles to wade through too, with the "Rockhound" trophy, awarded for finding 100% of the shards, proving to be one of the most painstaking collectible based trophies in existence. Attaining 100% equates to a mammoth 350 shards, which will lump hours onto the Platinum completion time, and with a very awkward map spotting system used to find them, you'll be in for a frustrating journey. The only real consolation is the trophies awarded at 25% and 50% of the 350 target, which will keep your motivation going, but it doesn't lessen the slog in any way.

Aside from the sheer overwhelming number of the shards you have to collect, you get next to no help from the game in regards to finding them all (aside an ability to temporarily see any shards within close proximity, which isn't even overly helpful anyway), and as a result, a manual checklist to keep track of what you have and need is definitely the order of the day.

The "Stunt Master" trophy, acquired by completing all stunts on the stunt list, is also a challenging venture. Despite there being only 21 stunts in the game to beat, some of them require a heavy mixture of skill and luck to accomplish, and will require large portions of perseverance to finally beat.

The Platinum also demands that you collect all dead drops, and capture all territory across the games 3 districts, which will take some time, and most likely take you beyond the end-game as part of a post story mop up, but they're not particularly difficult in any way. It is important to note that territory can be lost though, so it's imperative to stay on top of each district and make sure every area is maintained until you eventually grab the trophy.

Overall, this Platinum is fairly easy, but it does come with some heavy nuances. Beating the game on the hardest difficulty setting won't prove to be much trouble, and as long as you stick to separating your good and evil playthroughs to get the relevant moral choice trophies, you shouldn't need to play through the game more than the minimum requirement of twice anyway.

Collecting all the shards will prove to be an arduous task, and is without doubt the most challenging trophy within the entire list. It will take alot of patience and willpower to get all 350 of the shards in the game, and the lack of support in finding them provided by the game only makes matters more frustrating.

The stunt list requires an unfair balance of trial and error, which provides certain stunts with a slight spike in difficulty, but if you can get around these things in particular, then there isn't much else that will stand in your way.
