Platinum #3 - Bioshock

Platinum Difficulty Rating - 9/10
The biggest challenge within this list comes from the games hardest difficulty level. The "A Man Chooses" trophy, for completing the game on Survivor difficulty, takes alot of skill and perseverance, and will prove to be a tough challenge for many people.

Furthermore, the "I Chose the Impossible" trophy, awarded for completing the game on Survivor difficulty without using a Vita Chamber, heightens the challenge even more. It isn't so much about the fact that you can't  use a Vita chamber, as that turns out to be alot easier than you might expect, but more so the fact you have to beat the game on it's highest difficulty again, something which is gruelling enough once, let alone a second time.
The "Historian" trophy, for finding every audio diary, definitely needs huge amounts of attention, as missing just 1 will require a full replay of the game to achieve, courtesy of a lack of chapter select, and the fact you can't retrace your steps at any point during the game, in order to back to specific levels and collect anything you may have missed.

There are also a fairly large amount of missable trophies in the list which will need just as close attention too, including the "Research PHD" trophy, for maxing out all possible research. This means you need to take photos of every type of enemy as many times as possible, and given the fact that certain enemies (especially Alpha Daddies and Spider Splicers), seldom appear in the game,  you have to ensure that you take photos at every opportunity in order to max out the research path for each of them, else you'll be playing through the whole game again. You do get awarded a string of trophies for maxing out the research for each individual enemy, which actually proves to be a good tracking tool.

This also applies to the "Weapon Specialist" trophy, for acquiring all upgrades for all weapons, the "Tonic Collector", for collecting or inventing 58 tonics across the Physical, Engineering and Combat tracks and the "Dealt with every Little Sister" trophy, for either harvesting or rescuing every little sister in the game. They're all very easily missable, so it actually ends up being quite over-whelming, and possibly better to keep track of over multiple play-throughs, which you'll most likely need to do anyway.

Most of the games hidden trophies relate directly to certain crux points within the story mode, and cannot be missed, but it is important to make note of the "Little Sister Saviour" trophy, which requires you to complete the game without harvesting any little sisters. This obviously means you have to save every single one of them, and given the fact it's a hidden trophy makes it the hardest missable trophy in the list, and harvesting just one will mean you have to play through the whole game again (Noticing the pattern forming yet?).

Even though the amount of organisation and tracking needed around the games numerous missable trophies is a challenge in itself, the games general difficulty is still also extremely high. Survivor difficulty is up there with the hardest of single player offerings in any game, and given the fact you may have to beat it twice on the same difficulty level means you may have your work cut out. Factor in how easy some of the trophies are to miss aswell, which could quite easily add an extra play-through, just for those trophies alone, and you have a tough Platinum on your hands, with an overall completion of anywhere from 30 hours onwards, depending on how many times you have to replay the game.
