Platinum #14 - Assassins Creed 2

Platinum Difficulty Rating - 5/10
You'll earn most of the trophies in this list through story progression and completing certain stages/DNA sequences through the whole game.

The "An Old Friend Returns" trophy, awarded for escaping the hideout, is the only gold on offer in the list, and is as simple as just beating the main story arc in the game.

You also get awarded a sizeable amount of trophies for hitting certain crux points in the story, and completing every one of the 12 DNA sequences unlocked within the animus.

The rest of the list just involves tasks linked into the various side activities the game throws up, with a nicely varied and interesting amount of tasks to take up. The vast majority of these trophies are incredibly easy and will seldom cause you any difficulties, aside from a couple of exceptions at the very most.

The "No Hitter" trophy, awarded for killing 10 enemies while remaining in conflict without being hit, requires some nifty fighting skills, and the "Fly Swatter" trophy, awarded for kicking a guard whilst using the fighting machine, can only be achieved during a certain section of the game when Ezio acquires use of the flying machine, making it very much missable.

It's also worth mentioning the "Podesta Of Monteriggioni" trophy, awarded for reaching 80% of your Stronghold's value. This is essentially a mini-game whereby you develop a fake city by upgrading it's buildings and houses using Florins (the in-game currency), and you effectively have to fully upgrade it by at least 80% for the trophy. This takes quite a large investment of time and Florins, and is best to focus on as soon as possible, even though you don't actually unlock the game board until the latter stages of the game.

On the subject of upgrades, the "Victory Lies in Preparation" trophy, awarded for getting all Hidden Blades, Item Pouches and Armour upgrades isn't exactly difficult in any way, but the Missaglias armour is very expensive and will require a ton of saving up to be able to purchase, especially when you consider the amount of money you need for your Stronghold alongside of the weapons and armour upgrades.

There are also a small collection of trophies allocated to discovering, and unlocking, the various tombs around the game. Collectively, unlocking the secrets of all 7 of the tombs can take a short while, and some of them have a fairly heavy puzzle emphasis, which can require some deep thought process to get through.

Collectibles also make an appearence too, with the "In Memory of Pettruccio" trophy, awarded for collecting all feathers. There are 100 in total, and although you can acquire maps that will pinpoint the exact location of every feather, it's still a solid 3/4 hours on top of the Platinum time to collect all of them.

There is also the "Vitruvian Man" trophy, awarded for unlocking all 20 pieces of Subject 16's video, which is one of the few genuinely challenging trophies in the whole list. All 20 pieces contain codes that need to be cracked through completing the relevant puzzles, and beating all 20 without any guides and tips is an extremely brain-racking exercise, and contributes heavily to the overall difficulty of the list.

All in all, this list is a fairly relaxed one. Going through the story naturally should automatically net you around half of the trophies alone, and then it's just a matter of indulging in the relevant side activities and mopping up wherever necessary. Some of the trophies will throw in a genuine challenge element to the game, and some of them can be slighly long winded, but this game is still a sub 30 hour Platinum, even with the slightly more challenging trophies.
