Platinum #7 - Skate 2

Platinum Difficulty Rating - 8/10

This list is definitely a mixture of both difficult and time consuming, but will mostly stand out for the online portion of the game.
The “Online Legend” trophy, for achieving legend rank online, will easily take around 20-30 hours to reach and the experience points you can earn from ranked matches are always at fixed rates depending on where you finish in the rankings.

This obviously means there will always be a limit on what you can actually earn per game, which makes levelling seem a fairly slow process at times, especially if you can't regularly achieve a good ranking within games, and with the high experience threshold needed to hit the highest rank, there is a fairly big time dedication necessary to unlock the trophy.

The “Active Skater” trophy, for successfully completing all online freeskate activities with your created skater, is also fairly challenging, and relies on the contribution of other skaters in order to make it achievable. You need to beat 150 challenges in total, alot of which require completion of tasks from all parties involved, so you'll most likely need to get some good skating partners for best results, and to fulfil the requirements for every challenge.

The single player mode isn't too bad, and most of the focus here will be geared towards the "Perfectionist" trophy, for completing all paths in career mode. You can unlock a fair amount of the single player trophies from beating these various paths, including death-races, beating all film challenges, Hall of Meat and securing the magazine covers, so it's easy to keep track of what you need to fulfil all of the requirements.

The Pro Skater challenges are the highlight of the single player mode in terms of difficulty, with some thoroughly testing tasks that will push your skills, and the Hall of Meat career path might have you throwing in alot of trial and error, but there is nothing else that will trip you up too easily.

Even after unlocking everything, the single player mode shouldn't take any longer than 20 hours or so, but the fact the online portion of the game is easily a 30+ hour venture cranks up the time estimation for this Platinum. The capped experience system online slows things down considerably, and you'll need maximum co-operation to beat the 150 freeskate challenges, so the real completion time should remain very open. Some skill is required in various places, but this one if definitely about the time.
