If you're a natural completionist and have already beaten this game, the trophy patch isn't exactly kind. You'll have to play through the entire game again, striving for the "Earn your Burnout Driving License" trophy, awarded for receiving your burnout driving license, which requires you beat all 120 events scattered around the game map. A pretty tall order under normal circumstances, let alone if you've already achieved it pre-patch.
None of the events themselves are particulary difficult, but it mainly depends on whether or not you've played through the game before, and if you have, the chances are, it'll just became more of a chore in the end as you repeat alot of tasks that have gone before.
The other gold trophy contained within the list, the "Smash 60 Burnout Billboards" trophy, awarded for smashing through the 60th Billboard in Burnout Paradise, will only cause any sort of difficulty if you don't keep a track of which billboards have been destroyed from the very beginning. If you don't mark them off as you go along, you'll only struggle to find the last handful of billboards, due to the fact you won't have a clue where to find them because you haven't kept track of the ones already destroyed. The same can be said for the yellow gates, of which there are 200, although you're way more likely to destroy these without being able to help it, courtesy of many race routes taking you straight through them, but the key thing with both is to keep a running total from the very start.
Aside that, trophies are ridiculously straight forward for the most part and the platinum is an easy venture, even though there are a fair share of co-operative related trophies that will require co-ordination from as many as 8 players. This is probably where the hardest trophy in the list comes from too, with the "8 Players meet in the Wildcats' Baseball Stadium" trophy, for meeting up with 7 other players inside the Wildcat's Baseball Stadium, requiring the whole lobby to be in a specific area all at the same time. The task itself isn't an issue, it's just trying to get 7 other like minded people together, and organising a time where everybody is available to be online and fulfil the requirements of the trophy. Definitely a headache or two over that one.
There are a couple of other online trophies that can be fairly challenging in one way or another. The "Complete 10 Freeburn challenges", for completing your 10th Freeburn activity online, also requires gathering like minded individuals who will contribute to the challenges and allow you to fulfil the trophy requirements, and there most definitely should be a mention for the "Send a Mugshot or a Smugshot" trophy, for sending a Mugshot or Smugshot to another player in an online game. This requires the use of the Playstation Eye (or any other compatible camera), which is no more than a shameful push for extra peripheral sales.
In many respects, the only reason this Platium may feel difficult is if you're playing through from the very beginning again and have to go through the long winded process of finishing everything the game has to offer. You're still looking at a good 50-60 hour completion time, due to the vast amount of events within the game, along with a healthy dose of collectibles and tricky online trophies.
If you're picking the game up for the first time, you'll probably have a blast trying to grab the Platinum, but you definitely need to gut it out a touch if you've already beaten the game pre-trophy patch. If you can get over that, the rest isn't at all that daunting and you've got a fairly relaxed Platinum on your hands.
